Two weeks ago we traveled to Geneva, Switzerland. Kayla has a cousin (Eric) from Kansas who currently lives and works there, so it was crazy to discuss the cultural differences with someone who has experienced it firsthand. Eric took us to Mont Blanc in the south of France for the weekend to stay in a cabin belonging to a co-worker. Mont Blanc is absolutely beautiful and we couldn’t have picked a better weekend to visit—locals told us that it was the best ski day they have ever experienced. While at Mont Blanc, we rode to the top of the ski lift to see the views and eat lunch at a cafĂ©…the views were breathtaking! Again, due to the carry-on requirements, I was forced to bring my small camera and will post pictures as soon as possible. When returning to Geneva, we spent time walking around the lake and looking at some great architecture. We branched out and went to dinner at a famous fondue restaurant—to our surprise, fondue in Switzerland consists of cheese and bread…only. One nice thing about this area is their currency—franks. It is the closest currency to the dollar we have experienced so far this semester. However, living in Geneva is extremely outrageous in all departments. We went to McDonald’s for lunch one afternoon, only to be shocked at the 18-dollar Big Mac meals! For the first time ever we were ecstatic to return back to the London prices.
