Wow! I am sorry I haven’t updated in so long…I have been super busy with school and traveling. Almost four weeks ago, we spent the weekend in the Principality of Monaco. It actually is a sovereign city-state located in the Mediterranean next to France. Upon arrival, we took a seaside van from Nice to our hotel. If I were ever to go back, I would love to spend more time in Nice as it was absolutely beautiful! The hard part about traveling for a short weekend on a small budget was carrying everything on to the flight—we were only allowed one bag (purse and computer must be inside) with dimensions 1/3 of the size of the US requirements. Because of these strict rules, I had to resort to packing my point and shoot camera, which means the pictures will be uploaded later due to the lack of a camera cord. I will upload them as soon as a find a compatible card reader or computer dock. Monaco is known for hosting the Grand Prix car race during the summer time—it heavily relies on this event for yearly income. This city-state is also tax-free, resulting in a very wealthy variety of locals who live there to escape income taxes. While in Monaco, we walked around the bay area, visited the Casino famous for celebrity spottings, and walked through the Institut Oceanographique. All in all, it was a fabulous, relaxing weekend full of wonderful food, beautiful scenery, great wine, and city exploration. The photo below is one I found on a website to preview the photos to come in the future.
